The launch of Mission Innovation (MI) at COP21 recognised the vital role of innovation – driven by sustained public investment coupled with business leadership – to meet long-term climate goals and provide affordable, reliable and secure energy supplies. Since November 2015, MI has expanded to 25 members from five continents, responsible for more than 80 percent of the world’s public sector clean energy innovation investments, who have all committed to seek to double their clean energy innovation investments.
