Strengthened Cooperation

  • Denmark will co-lead the Zero Emissions Shipping-mission alongside the United States, Norway, Global Maritime Forum and the Mærsk McKinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping to contribute to the decarbonisation of the shipping sector through development, demonstration and deployment of zero-emission ships, fuels and fuel infrastructure.
  • Denmark is committed to develop zero-emission fuels for the shipping industry by scaling up the production of renewable energy through the construction of two so-called energy islands (link) in order to scale up the production of green hydrogen for the production of zero-emission fuel for ships. To that end a tender to support the establishment of large-scale Power-to-X plants with a total capacity of 100 MW will be opened.
  • Denmark will contribute to the Accelerate Module by participating in the Mission Innovation Climate Action Exchange Platform (MI-ClimEx).
