Clean Energy RD&D investments

  • Norway has considerably increased public energy RD&D investments over the last five years. Norway will seek to sustain this level of investment over the next five year period. Investment levels will depend on annual budget allocations. In the first phase of Mission Innovation, Norway more than fulfilled the goal to double the RD&D investments, mainly due to large investments in the Longship project, a full-scale demonstration project for carbon capture, transport and storage, and large investment in the Hywind Tampen project, the world’s largest floating wind farm, now under construction. We also increased public funding for clean energy R&D over the five-year period. In numbers, the investments were increased from about 130 to about 390 mill USD.
