In collaboration with Italy and the United Kingdom, China has initiated the Green Powered Future Mission (“Power Mission”) and served as one of the co-leading countries. This Mission aims to demonstrate that by 2030 power systems, in different geographies and climates, are able to effectively integrate up to 100% variable renewable energies, like wind and solar, in their generation mix and maintain a cost-efficient, secure and resilient system. Currently, the Mission co-leads are actively engaging with MI members, international organizations, and private sectors for joining the coalition. Being one of the co-lead countries, China will undertake the responsibility of providing technical solutions and establishing demonstration projects for the Mission’s key innovation areas: Affordable and Reliable VRE, System Flexibility and System Integration. Moreover, China will join the Platform and is also interested in joining the Hydrogen Mission.
